Baltimore Reunion 2014

This will be our tenth annual reunion, it seems like our first in Las Vegas wasn't that long ago. This year things will be a little different. In response to those wanting more group events, we are in the final stages of organizing a baseball outing. Richard Clinton has already checked out hotels and we have decided on one located in the Inner Harbor area. Jim Jensen is taking care of us baseball fans and has come up with the following:

Baltimore Orioles/Cincinnati Reds at Camden Yards

9/4/2014 7:04PM

Miller Lite Flite Deck ($45 each)

Registration fee $10.00 per person deposit for Orioles game on Thursday. As the Flite Deck is sold out, seats close to the deck have been reserved at $29.00 Remaining $19.00 to be paid before July 1 2014. The full $29.00 per person may be made now if you desire.

See the registration form or get tickets on our website

Trip to The Wall

A bus trip to the Wall has been contracted with Eyre Bus Service for Friday Sept 5 th. It will depart the hotel at 0900 hours and deliver us to Constitution Ave by The Wall. You will have plenty of time to see other sites like WWII, Korean War, Lincoln Memorial, and Washington Monument etc. The bus will depart DC at 1400 hours. This has been paid from association funds and all you need to do is contact Richard Clinton to reserve a seat/s. This will be on a first come first served basis.

A group photo will be taken at The Wall upon arrival next to the two panels with our 9 April 68 casualties, and then everyone is on their own until the scheduled return time estimated to be about 1400 hours. This gives you approximately 4 hours to visit the Memorials you choose.

Things to do in Baltimore…..

National Aquarium in Baltimore - Considered one of the world's best aquariums and boasts a fun dolphin show. It isn't a cheap excursion, but you will see lots of cool exhibits along the way!

Fort McHenry - The historic fort that inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner

Sports Legends Museum at Camden Yards - A must for sports fans and it is right next to Camden Yards, so you also get a wonderful view of the Orioles baseball stadium

Port Discovery Children's Museum - Ranked among the top 5 children's museums in the US!

American Visionary Art Museum - This museum isn't your typical art museum. It is full of art that is out-of-the-box, visually appearing, and makes a statement. Very interesting to wander around

Lexington Market - An original market opened in 1782. It is still a great place to get delicious eats. (Make sure to get Berger cookies there...and a crab cake!)

Camden Yards - Home to the Baltimore Orioles! The concourse is open year-round in addition to the gift shop and ballpark restaurant, Dempsey's.

Inner Harbor - Great for people watching and shopping for souvenirs. There are paddle boats and beautiful historic ships available to tour. (Eat at Miss Shirley's for brunch!)

Fells Point - Historic area with cobblestone streets and right on the waterfront. Great hole-in-the-wall restaurants with fresh seafood and cute shops. (take the water taxi from Inner Harbor)

Federal Hill - Cross St. market is a well-known fresh farm market in the middle of Federal Hill. It is a quick walk from the Inner Harbor and has great bars/restaurants for drinking at any time of day. Federal Hill park is the green hill you can see from the Inner Harbor and climbing to the top of the hill will give you a great view of the city.

Harbor East - This is a fairly new area with recent development, but has great shopping including Anthropologie, South Moon Under, etc.

Babe Ruth

Edgar Allan Poe (Buried at 515 W Fayette St Baltimore, MD 21201)

F. Scott Fitzgerald
